Hello and welcome to the City of Romulus website. This website is designed to provide you with important information about the city in which I have spent my whole life. I love Romulus, and I hope you will take the time to visit us soon.

A suburb of metropolitan Detroit, Romulus has small town charm with a big-city location. As home to Detroit Metropolitan Airport we serve as the “Gateway to the World.” Millions of people pass through Metro Airport and the City of Romulus each year.

Conveniently nestled halfway between Ann Arbor and downtown Detroit, Romulus is indeed a city on the grow. We have completed a new city master plan to better meet  the needs of the new residential, commercial and industrial growth now taking place in Romulus. Unlike some other suburbs, Romulus still contains large tracts of undeveloped open land with easy access.

The city’s prime location to the airport, railroads and thoroughfares make it a desirable location for new development in Southeastern Michigan. Interstates I-94 and I-275 pass through the City of Romulus. Foreign trade zones located within Romulus serve a number of reputable companies. Our city is a member of both the Conference of Western Wayne and Downriver Community Conference. The Greater Romulus Chamber of Commerce helps our businesses grow and network with other companies.

Our neighborhoods are growing too! We have new, quality homes under construction as well as new retail and commercial development. We are enhancing the quality of life for our residents by building a new recreation facility and senior citizens center without raising taxes to our residents. A variety of quality recreational programs and senior citizen services are available here. Full-time police and fire departments serve our community, and our historical park preserves our proud heritage as we continue to build a better Romulus. I hope you enjoy visiting our city website.
