City Offices Notice of Operation Change
Starting August 30, 2010, the City hours of operation will change to Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This includes City Hall, DPW Clerical, Police Department Clerical, Fire Administrative, Animal Control, Ordinance, Recreation and Senior Center.
Department of Public Works non-clerical hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Romulus Pumpkin Festival-Cancelled
The 2010 Pumpkin Festival has been cancelled due to budget cuts. We will keep you updated of new developments affecting the future of the Pumpkin Festival.

Garbage Pick-Up
Due to the Labor Day holiday, there will be no trash collection on Monday ,September 6, 2010. Collections will be one day behind on Tuesday through Saturday.

Banquet Hall for Rent
The Senior Center is open for rental! If you have a special event coming up, call the center and make your reservations. We accept renters every day of the week. Harrison/Hildebrant Reconstruction
The much anticipated reconstruction of Harrison and Hildebrandt Roads will be underway by mid May. Starting the week of May 10th construction signs should be installed, utility staking will begin and work on underground utility replacement will start.

Beginning Monday May 24, 2010 the Romulus Public Library hours are:

10:00 a.m. -- 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday
12:00 p.m. -- 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday
10:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.
Thursday
10:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.
Friday
12:00 p.m. -- 5:00 p.m.

Notary Public Service
Effective May 6, 2010, Notary Public Services fees at the City of Romulus will be as follows:
Residents
$5.00 per document
Non-Residents
$10.00 per document
This is in compliance with the Michigan Notary Public Act and City Council Resolution Number 10-124
Vacant Structure Hotline- 734-955-8720
Romulus residents are encouraged to call at any time to report newly vacant structures, upkeep of vacant structures, and vacant structures that may be open to trepass. This hotline with be monitored on a daily basis (Monday thru Friday) and checked for messages that may be left after business hours by the Department of Building.
Street Light Problem Reporting
If you are a Detroit Edison residential or business customer, you now can report it online at
dteenergy.com/streetlight
. To report a street light out at your home or business, you will simply fill in the address on the online form. If you spot an outage elsewhere, you can type in the location, the intersection nearest to the afftected light and their contact infomation.
In addition to the new online system, you can report street light problems by calling Detroit Edison toll-free at (800)-477-4747.

The CodeRED emergency notification system is a communication service available for emergency and non-emergency notifications. CodeRED employs intranet mapping capable of geographic targeting of calls, coupled with a telephone calling system capable of delivering a pre-recorded message directly to homes and businesses at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour.
