The Community Services Department facilitates communication to residents, community groups, and other local stakeholders on behalf of the City. It also serves as a liaison between groups. The mission of the Community Services Department is to keep Romulus residents informed of important events, news and services while showing the benefit of the services their tax dollars are going to fund. The Community Services Department not only promotes City-sponsored events but other community-wide events as well. We strive to be a clearinghouse for a Romulus-wide calendar for coordinating community events throughout the year to better help all Romulus events succeed.
Day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the Community Services Department include managing and updating the City's website, and Facebook page; designing presentations and publications in line with the city's official brand such as the Community Connection citywide newsletter, email news blasts, Senior Communicator and other event and recreation flyers and posters; writing press releases on behalf of the City; representing the City with outreach tables at school and community events. The Community Services Department also assists other City departments with communicating and working with the public.
