If you notice a street lighting outage, a light going on and off (cycling), a light on during the day, vandalism, damage, or any other problem with street lights please call the Department of Assessment at 734-942-7520 (please leave a voice message after hours) or send an email to Julie Albert to let us know. Please provide the pole number found on the metal tag, street name, and nearest cross street, or the in front of address to help us locate the streetlight(s).
According to DTE normal repairs are completed within 5 to 7 business days. Repairing underground cables or replacing poles may take up to 20 days. Please Note: During storms, DTE's priority is to restore power to customers; therefore street light outages may take longer to repair.

If you have a utility pole on or near your property, take advantage of it by adding outdoor protective lighting directly on the pole to enhance the safety and security of your home! Your new outdoor protective lighting will be added onto your existing DTE bill for a predictable, affordable monthly rate. If there’s ever an issue with your light, they will provide maintenance at no extra cost to you.
