2021 Local Elections
No August Primary Election
Chapter VIII, Section 8.8 of the Romulus City Charter states that when the number of candidates who file for elective office does not exceed twice the number to be elected to that office, no Primary Election shall be held. The candidates will appear on the November 2, 2021, General Election ballot.

You may spoil your absentee ballot for the following reasons:
- Made an error on the ballot
- Lost or destroyed the ballot
- Did not receive the ballot you requested
- You desire to vote in person
If you would like to spoil your absentee ballot, please complete the Affidavit of Absent Voter and return it to the City Clerk’s Office with the ballot you are requesting to spoil.
RETURNING YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT
Every green & white absentee ballot return envelope will have postage already applied to it. You may return your ballot to the Romulus City Clerk’s Office by mail, in-person, or by one of our two convenient drop-box locations.
Remember, in order for your absentee ballot to be counted, all ballots must be received by the Clerk by 8:00 PM on November 2, 2021.
Don't forget to sign your absentee ballot return envelope before dropping it in the mail, drop-box, or returning it to the Clerk's Office.
