Volunteer Opportunities
Overview
The City of Romulus always welcomes residents and community members of all ages to volunteer with upcoming events as well as routine tasks.
Romulus Animal Shelter
The Romulus Animal Shelter is in need of volunteers on a regular basis.
Romulus Pumpkin Festival
The Romulus Pumpkin Festival is in need of volunteers for help not only during Festival Weekend but also for those that would like to be on the Festival Committee which meets monthly.
Neighborhood Watch Group
Other residents looking to be engaged in their own neighborhood are asked to consider joining or forming a Neighborhood Watch Group. Community Outreach Liaison, Chris Dunn, can help with this process and get you in touch with Neighborhood Groups that are already active. He can be reached at 734-955-4556, or email Chris Dunn.
Romulus Clean Sweep
The Romulus Clean Sweep in late April is a time that the community comes together to clean up public spaces throughout the City, clear out litter and debris, and generally give the City a good sprucing up. Residents, business owners and the local schools all help contribute to this effort. For more information, please call the Mayor's Office at 734-942-7571.
Romulus Goodfellows
The Romulus Goodfellows work year-round to raise money for their goal of no child in Romulus without a Christmas. They are looking for volunteers to help with fundraising, planning, and distribution of donations during the holidays.
Romulus Garden Club
Have a "green thumb", an eye for landscaping, or interested in learning more about the natural environment? There are lots of opportunities for residents to get involved with the Romulus Garden Club. The Garden Club meets monthly at the Romulus Public Library for informational workshops and planning meetings.
They also do garden clean-up projects throughout the year and organize the Eco-Fair in April in honor of Earth Day. For more information or to find out when the next meeting is, call the Library at 734-942-7589, or join their Facebook group by searching Romulus Garden Club. You can apply here for 2022.
