A message from OHM-
"Beginning on Monday, September 18th, 2023, sidewalk replacement work in the city is scheduled to begin in various areas around the city. Please be advised that during the construction process sidewalk will only be removed and replaced in select areas and not along entire streets. Residents will be notified at least 24 hours in advance if sidewalk across your driveway will be removed and replaced, affecting driveway access. The contractor and/or City inspector will contact you prior to this work commencing.
In preparation for sidewalk replacement, we are asking all residents to please identify and mark any and all sprinkler heads or other irrigation-related devices near the sidewalk. Flags or stakes work best though any marking which easily identifies the location is much appreciated. We understand that not all residences have irrigation systems, but we are aware of some. By identifying sprinkler heads and irrigation systems, the possibility for them to be damaged during construction activities is immensely decreased.
No road closures are anticipated to be necessary for the completion of the work proposed in this project. It is the contractor's intention to perform the sidewalk replacement work in a manner that is minimal to traffic interruption.
It is important to note that there will be excessive truck traffic during the construction operations, and we ask that you please keep children and pets away from the construction operation. Construction activity and the associated equipment that goes with it are attractive to small children and can be dangerous to them.
Please note that this work is at no charge to the homeowner and will be paid for by the City of Romulus through an awarded grant opportunity. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in advance of the proposed construction, as the City of Romulus continues to improve the infrastructure in your neighborhood. Additional information and notices may be provided as work progresses.
