Title: Grants Administrator/Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

In November 2019, Jill Martin accepted a new position within the City of Romulus as Grants Administrator/Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.  Jill had previously served as the Fire Department Administrative Assistant since beginning her career with the City in 1992.  While working for the City, she attended Wayne State University and in 2012, obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a major in Public Relations.

As Grants Administrator, Jill researches a wide spectrum of alternative funding solutions and makes recommendations based on eligibility and cost-benefit for all departments within the city. In 2022, successful grant awards include funding for park improvements, additional firefighter positions, fire department equipment and gear, and sidewalk repairs.
